HMH Names Winner of $50,000 of Free Marketing Services

Classroom Central Seeks Community Support to Serve Local Students

November 18, 2009

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- HMH, a marketing communications firm with offices in Charlotte and Portland, Oregon, today announced that Classroom Central has been selected as the recipient of up to $50,000 in pro bono integrated marketing communications services. HMH will work with Classroom Central to determine the services that best meet the non-profit agency's needs. These may include a combination of strategy, advertising, graphic design, public relations, digital, media buying and production.

Classroom Central was selected from non-profit organizations in North and South Carolina that responded to an RFP issued by HMH in June.

Sally Auguston, HMH Charlotte general manager, will lead the agency team. Auguston said: "HMH and its employees have a long history of giving. In today's challenging economy, we recognize that there are organizations in need of strategic marketing support that cannot afford such services.

"We look forward to working with Classroom Central to create more visibility for this important program, and to help it provide school supplies to even more of the children who need our help in these difficult times."

Sarah Porter, Classroom Central communications manager, said: "Currently, one in two children in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg area comes to school each day without the basic supplies for learning. The need is community-wide, with half of CMS students living at or below the poverty line. These supplies not only increase academic achievement, they boost the children's confidence and self-esteem. We know, through increased community awareness we can help more children. And the services HMH is so generously offering will help us do that."
