HMH Issues RFP for $50,000 of Free Marketing Services
North/South Carolina Non-profits Encouraged to Apply

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- HMH, a marketing communications firm with offices in Charlotte and in Portland, Oregon, today announced a pro bono program to help local and regional non-profit organizations. HMH will contribute up to $50,000 of integrated marketing communications services to a qualified local group. The services will be those that best meet the needs of the winning organization and could include a combination of strategy, advertising, graphic design, public relations, digital , media buying and production.
"HMH and its employees have a long history of giving. In today's challenging economy, we understand there are organizations in need of strategic marketing support that cannot afford it. This RFP provides a process for locating and working with an organization we might not have connected with otherwise, one with needs that match our expertise," said Ed Herinckx, HMH president.
Any North or South Carolina 501(c)(3) organization that meets the following requirements is invited to apply before July 31, 2009. For application and information, go to www.thinkhmh.com/HMHgivesback.
To be considered, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- An IRS recognized 501(c)(3) organization headquartered in North or South Carolina with a marketing plan
- A clearly defined project with goals in place
- A measurable definition of success
- Budget available to cover outside supplier and production costs (these costs might include photography or art; purchase of print, radio or television advertising; printing; postage and deliveries).
Proposals submitted for consideration should include:
- Description of the organization
- Statement of need
- Documentation of non-profit status
- Name of individual with whom the agency would work
- Description of organization's process for approving agency work
- Organization's funding structure
- Examples of organization's previous marketing efforts, including budgets and an assessment of their effectiveness
- Previous experience working with an agency
- Summary of any recent research that might help guide marketing strategies
RFPs may be submitted from June 15 to July 31, 2009. Review of RFPs will be completed by August 31. Finalists will be notified by September 4, and will meet with HMH between September 8 and September 22. The agency’s decision will be announced September 29, 2009. Work will begin in October and will be completed by March 31, 2010.
