Paula is a managing partner and our administrative director. With a unique ability to intuitively know what needs to happen—and get it done—she has an uncanny ability to manage people and process.
Paula began life here at HMH 23 years ago as our receptionist. She has since served many roles ranging from production manager to VP/production director. When the stakes are high, Paula is the go-to person. She’s equally good at the day-to-day work, and maintains unwavering quality standards and calming assuredness, even amidst a storm of chaotic activity. Perhaps it has something to do with the plaque hanging in her office, “Because nice matters.” That says it all.
DREAM JOB:
Owning a day spa (I'd let someone else scrub feet, however.)
PETS:
Five fish, one snail and two cats. Names? Shiny, Sparkle, Jimbo, Craig, Hanky, Gary, Parker and Bobby.

EMBARRASSING STORY ABOUT YOURSELF:
I was asking someone in New York (over the phone) what his street address was. I didn't understand completely, so I asked him to spell it. He said, "W-A-L-L." I felt pretty stupid after that.
SOMETHING NO ONE KNOWS ABOUT YOU:
Love to fish in the deep blue sea for salmon and halibut. I can bait my own hook and bonk the fish over the head, too.
FAVORITE THING TO DO OUTSIDE OF WORK:
Watching my kids in their various activities.
