Busted for not napping in kindergarten, Mark was allowed to draw, shocking his teacher that he was sketching in perspective. Busted in third grade for painting the back of the seat in front of him, he was sent to re-paint the wall outside the cafeteria (he responded with a zoo mural). Busted for selling drawings of Playboy and Harley logos in high school, he was sent to a "commercial art" class and, thus, began his journey into advertising. Four years of business school confirmed his love for the creative side of the trade, yet he retains a healthy respect for strategy and an understanding of words such as "disintermediation." Fifteen years into his career he has been recognized by the Portland Roseys, the Tellys, the Northwest and Southeast regional Addys and the West Coast Show, and has seen his clients' work appear in Communication Arts, Creativity, Fortune Small Business and Print Magazine.
