"Take the high ground" is advice clients often hear from Marian Massey. And that's the approach she's taken in helping make HMH a great place to work, too. Her responsibilities include managing partner, crisis communications, HR and serving as de facto Easter Bunny.
SOMETHING NO ONE KNOWS ABOUT HER:
I have exercycled more than 55,000 miles. (That's more than twice around the world!)
WORST JOB:
Manuscript typing for the historical society when I was in college.
DREAM JOB:
This one, of course. (Can't imagine anything more fun.)
FIRST JOB:
The society editor for the Blue Mountain Eagle when I was 17.
FAVORITE QUOTE:
"Never eat anything you can’t lift." - Miss Piggy
FAVORITE THING TO DO OUTSIDE OF WORK:
Perfecting her downward dog.
Learning all of the Mozart piano sonatas.
Watching reality TV. (The junkier the better!)
Crossword puzzles. At least one a day.
PET:
Lizzie Burnside (aka The Mad Bomber). A rescue cat picked up by a flagger at a construction site, Lizzie is determined to be a fat cat.
EMBARRASSING STORY ABOUT YOURSELF:
My name is Marian and I'm a print junkie. I read everything on the new book shelf at the library: fiction, non-fiction, adventure, cookbooks, trash... you name it, I read it!
