SUBWAY'S JARED VISITS PORTLAND

APRIL 11, 2005

Jared Fogle – the slimmed-down spokesperson for Subway restaurants – was in Portland recently for a promotional tour that included media interviews, a sandwich making contest and lunch with the locals. The event was organized by HMH, which handles advertising, media buying and public relations for the 175 Subway franchises in northwest Oregon and southwest Washington.

Jared's schedule included appearances on KPTV's Good Day Oregon and KATU's AM Northwest, interviews with radio stations in Portland, Eugene and Medford, and lunch with children attending the Community Transitional School in southeast Portland. Jared also used the opportunity to announce the winner of the Northwest Fresh Sandwich Contest, a local promotion created by HMH. William Knight of Portland submitted the winning entry-a Smoked Salmon Select sandwich.

In addition to the Subway Portland account, HMH recently added the Subway Eugene and Subway Medford accounts and will begin creating marketing programs for the 65 franchises that stretch from Eugene, Ore. to Mt. Shasta, Calif.

With offices in Portland, Ore., and Charlotte, N.C., HMH is a 27-year-old full service marketing communications firm serving a wide range of local, regional and national clients.
